Keep the service history tied to the right alarm system

For an installer responding to a fault, the useful starting point is the customer's site and the exact system. Installation, handover and maintenance records then show what was checked and what remains open.

  1. Identify the equipment

Customer, location, system type and serial number distinguish one alarm installation from another.

  2. Record the visit

The maintenance entry carries the technician, date, functional check, defect and action taken.

  3. Explain the next date

A later service date is recorded with its contractual or manufacturer basis, not an assumed universal interval.

How Sektura helps with everyday work

A fault at the side door

Example: a warehouse intrusion alarm repeatedly reports a problem at the side-door contact. The operator calls the installer and agrees an on-site visit.

  1. Match the system

The team checks the warehouse location and serial number in the equipment record.

  2. Inspect on site

The technician finds a loose contact fixing, records the defect and repair, and marks a functional check only after performing it.

  3. Agree follow-up

With the operator, the technician records the next date and its basis; any unresolved issue stays documented.

The operator can see which system was serviced and which check is still due. The record does not provide remote diagnosis or automatic approval.

Getting started is simple

How it works

  1. Add the equipment

Start with the customer, site, type and available manufacturer and serial details.

  2. Enter proven history

Add installation and acceptance details only where the checks, documents and briefing actually exist.

  3. Try a service case

Record a sample defect, action, functional check and reasoned follow-up date.

Questions before you start

Does a passed acceptance record certify the system?
No. The entry requires a check and operator briefing; technical sign-off and any certification require the appropriate real-world process.
Can this plan guard patrols?
Guarding has separate workflows. This journey concerns the installed security system and its service records.

Monitoring requires its own arrangement

Alarm transmission to a monitoring centre requires a configured, authorised provider connection; a maintenance entry cannot create one.

Record a fault in a security system

A customer reports a fault in an existing security system ahead of a maintenance visit.

  1. Ask the customer for system, location and fault details.

  2. Inspect the installation on site and note findings.

  3. Agree the next check with the customer.

The system, observed fault and next check are documented for maintenance.
