Price the tile work from the room you actually measured

A bathroom quote changes when a boxed pipe, an uneven wall or a damp screed appears on site. Sektura keeps measured areas and named adjustments with the project and draft costing, while moisture and substrate records show what still needs professional review.

  1. Trace the measured area

Room dimensions or manual areas can form the base; openings and corrections are recorded separately with reasons. The net figures support planning, not automatic contract deductions.

  2. Work out material deliberately

Tile format, waste allowance and catalogue entries feed a project and costing draft. The trade checks pack quantities and supplier prices for the actual order.

  3. Keep hold points visible

Moisture readings and substrate observations can be recorded. A calculated flag does not establish that the waterproofing system or the whole site is suitable.

How Sektura helps with everyday work

Example: a shower floor in an older house

Fictional example: a couple asks for large floor tiles and a level-entry shower. At the survey, the tiler finds a boxed pipe, a wall out of true and a screed whose remaining moisture is still uncertain.

  1. Measure the actual shape

The tiler records floor and wall areas, labels the pipe boxing as an adjustment and notes the uneven wall.

  2. Inspect before promising

They record the substrate and arrange a suitable moisture measurement; the shower's waterproofing build-up needs its own competent assessment.

  3. Cost the agreed scope

After choosing tile size and layout, they review waste, preparation work and the date with the couple before finalising the quote.

The draft has a measured basis and explicit unanswered site questions; a moisture record does not quietly become sign-off.

Getting started is simple

How it works

  1. Survey a sample room

Enter fictional floor and wall dimensions plus a named opening and check the resulting areas.

  2. Connect survey and cost

Create the linked project and costing draft, choose a real tile format and review waste allowance.

  3. Record a site finding

Try a substrate note and example moisture reading, then assign responsibility for the on-site judgement.

Questions before you start

Will the system decide every deduction from a doorway or niche?
No. It records named openings and corrections. The contractual measurement basis must be agreed for the job.
Does a passing moisture indicator certify the shower waterproofing?
No. The comparison uses stated substrate, method and limits; the full build-up and local requirements need professional review.

Agree the build-up first

Preparation, waterproofing, tile batch, inspection and handover belong in the actual job specification.

Tilers working on bathroom renovations

Survey a bathroom floor before tiling

A tiler visits a bathroom floor before the client chooses the tile layout.

  1. Measure the floor and cutouts on site.

  2. Inspect the substrate and note its moisture condition.

  3. Discuss tile size and joint pattern with the client.

Measurements, substrate notes and layout wishes are ready for the quote.
